Boundary County Library
Boundary County Library has a long history reaching back to 1913 when the newly formed Readers Club began it's project to start a library. It all began with a humble wheelbarrow moving donated books from place to place until space was provided at City Hall in 1930. By 1956, the Boundary County Free Library District was formed and began to receive taxpayer support. The library’s ever-growing collection caused a move to the former Bank building on Main Street while the Library Board continued to search for a more permanent location. In 1973, the library purchased a vacant lot, and it made plans for the construction of a new 8,000 sq. ft. building which allowed the Museum a temporary space in the basement. Fast forward to today and Boundary County Library remains a pillar of service to our community.
The Boundary County Library’s (BCL) primary mission is to inform, educate, and culturally enrich the entire community it serves by providing the community with a broad range of library materials and services.
