read. learn. discover.
More are on the way!
These educational kits contain a diverse assortment of experiments, learning guides, creative activities, books and more!
Twice per month, the Boundary County Library invites young scientists to participate in an interactive science program led by biologist, Amy Maggi. Grab your goggles, put on your lab coats and come explore the magical world of science at your local library! Check out the calendar below for upcoming programs.
Each hour long science class is based on a broad science topic like insects, reptiles, geology or chemistry. Amy will explore the topic by introducing some fun facts, pictures, videos, sounds and sometimes cool props or even live animals! She will often ask for kids in the audience to volunteer for fun experiments and she always encourages the audience to ask lots of questions throughout the class.
Check out the calendar below for upcoming science classes.
Once a month, join Amy in the media room for a new and engaging video conference with science organizations from across the country. Learn about sled dogs live from Denali National Park. Get up close to sharks and dolphins at Texas State Aquarium. Travel to the moon with NASA and learn all about humans in space.
Each video conference is fully interactive. Oftentimes, the children will get to see live animals and closeups of biofacts such as skulls, furs, and teeth.
Check out the calendar below for our next video conference.
Immediately following each science class, there is an optional craft relating to the topic presented. We also make available book displays and science education kits to encourage further exploration into the topic of the month.
