The Library limits the loan of material in the following manner:
15 items per person; 30 items per couple; 45 items per family card.
Primary cardholders are responsible for the return of all BCL materials on time and in good condition as well as any items borrowed on their behalf by the BCL from other libraries as an Interlibrary loan.
How do I get a library card?
To receive a library card, a new patron must bring two types of identification: a photo ID and a piece of mail sent to your current address. Our Library is a property tax-based non-profit organization; therefore we require new patrons to provide proof of residency. Individuals who are not Boundary County residents may obtain equal access to materials and services through one of our many membership offerings for a small fee.

And as always, if you're having trouble, give us a call or stop by!
After you have been an established active patron in good standing for three (3) months, you may apply for an interlibrary loan (ILL). Call or stop by to fill out a small request form.
There is no charge for the first three books each fiscal year (October - September). Afterward, we ask for a $3.00 donation per book for postage. Requested books must be published over 6 months or more for lenders to release the items to us. You may request two books at a time. Audiobooks are also available to ILL.
You must be an established Boundary County Library patron in good standing for three (3) months, then you may apply for a Sandpoint Card.
The Sandpoint Library will have it's own account requirements. Please contact the information desk for more details at (208) 263-6930.
Please return all Sandpoint materials to their corresponding library branch, not the Boundary County Library.
