Coming January 20th!
Enter our Winter Reading Land to find your next sweet read!
Will your team take a shortcut on the Gummy Bear Rainbow Bridge or jump ahead to Chocolate Falls?
Follow the reading journey on the game board banner starting on January 20th at Boundary County Library! Every 25 books read advances your team’s piece closer to Gingerbread Cottage. May the best team win!
Winter Reading Activities @ the library!
Follow the Candy Land Winter Reading game from home with our virtual game board that matches our game board updated daily inside the library. Visit the library for a chance to spin the wheel to further advance your team and win some sweet prizes. All ages welcome!
Rules of the Game
Travel with your team through "Candy Land" along the path of colored spaces and be the first team to reach the Gingerbread Cottage. Teams of librarians, adults, boys, and girls will move along the board by reading books from January 20th through March 17th. Each colored space represents 25 books. Therefore, a team will advance 1 space for every 25 books they read. Reading log book counts may be turned in at the library or online by submitting your book count total using the form above. Reading log packets will be handed out at our regularly scheduled Storytime on January 20th, and will be available at the front desk throughout January. The first 150 players to pick up a reading log packet at the library will receive a free ice cream cone coupon courtesy of our local Super 1 Foods.
Come in, spin and win! Teams may also advance in the game if a player finds a bonus candy card hidden inside the library. Return the card to the front desk to be redeemed for a sweet prize and a free spin on the colored wheel. The card you find will either advance your team ahead or sabotage another team by sending them backward. There are a total of six candy cards hidden in the library each day. Players may redeem one card per day.
