Inter-Library Loan

If you would like to read a book or listen to an audiobook on CD that we do not own, we can usually bring it in through Inter-Library Loan (ILL). Some ILL rules to be aware of are:

  • You must be a patron in good standing with us for at least 3 months to request an ILL

  • Limit 2 books at a time

  • Books must have been published more than 6 months ago

  • It takes around 2 weeks or more to order in a book, and the due date is set by the lending library

Outreach

We regularly visit  4H Friday Friends and TLC daycare with books and crafts for kids! The library also visits The Boundary County Community Restorium and the community fairs. We are always looking for new opportunities to connect with the community. Past involvements include:

  • Bonners Ferry High School Business Project Fair

  • Chamber of Commerce

  • Veteran Christmas Craft Fair

  • Camp Cloverbud

  • Selkirk Loop Spring Celebration

  • Health Fair

  • Kootenai River Days

  • SCA Partnership for JRR Tolkien Day

Library In a Box

In an effort to reach as wide an audience as possible, the Boundary County Library created Library in a Box. We have dispersed boxes of free books throughout the county. The rules are simple: Take one, bring it back whenever, pick another. We frequently re-stock the boxes, so there is no pressure to return the books right away.

Current Library in a Box Locations include:

  • Bonners Ferry Victim Services

  • The Boundary County Food Bank

  • Porthill Mercantile

  • Elk Mountain Farms

  • Good Grief Grill & Grocery

  • Bonners Ferry Laundromat
